For Strickler, his success became obvious when his customers were willing to pay twice the price for a banana split than for a regular ice cream sundae. From that moment onwards the entire world began to fall in love with the banana split. By the 1950’s, the frozen dessert had taken the world by storm, becoming a status symbol of wealth and taste.
